Through her participation in the Allen ISD Leadership Academy, Amanda has gained a deeper understanding of the District, its unique strengths, current challenges, and long-term vision. She has also recognized a critical gap in representation—while the Board has excellent members, none currently have young children in the District’s elementary schools. Amanda will fill that need, ensuring that parents whose children are just at the beginning of their journey in Allen ISD have a stronger voice in the decisions that will impact them and their families’ futures.
Now more than ever, the District needs trustees who understand policy and legislative advocacy. The Texas Legislature is making major decisions that directly impact school funding and district governance, and school boards must actively engage in these discussions to advocate for the best interests of students, teachers, and families. Amanda’s background in policy, legislation, and working with government decision-makers uniquely positions her to advocate for Allen ISD and ensure its voice is heard in Austin. She has worked directly with Congress, State leaders, and Federal agencies, and understands how to navigate complex policies, secure funding, and push for legislation. With education funding and local control at stake, Amanda’s experience will be a critical asset to the District’s future.
Amanda understands that schools are the heartbeat of the community, and their success also depends on strong partnerships. She is committed to engaging not just parents and teachers, but also local businesses, the city council, the chamber of commerce, churches, and other community organizations to ensure that Allen ISD thrives as a collaborative effort.
Amanda spent the first part of her career working in the Federal government. She has extensive experience in health and budget policy and is now a small business owner. With her government experience, Amanda came to appreciate the importance of collaboration and partnership with the private sector, and she now advises companies on how to develop and sustain those relationships. She believes these skills will be invaluable in ensuring Allen ISD remains strong, well-managed, and prepared for the future.
Amanda was born in Dallas, TX, while her mom completed residency at Parkland Hospital and her dad attended law school at SMU, and grew up in Marietta, GA. Amanda earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her master’s from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Amanda is married to Andrew Campbell, whom she met while they were both serving on the hospitality team at their church in Washington, DC. Together they have three precious boys, Brooks, Bennett, and Collin. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Amanda enjoys cooking, running, and reading.
About Amanda
Amanda Campbell is a mom of three young boys, a small business owner, and a participant in the Allen ISD Leadership Academy Class of 2025 running for Place 5 on the Allen ISD School Board. She and her family moved to Allen, TX in 2023 from Peachtree Corners, Georgia, for her husband’s job. They quickly embraced the community, becoming members of Cottonwood Creek Church, where Amanda volunteers with Kids Creek, working with 5- and 6-year-olds on Sundays. Her oldest son is a kindergartner at Preston Elementary, where she is in PTA and serves as room mom, while her younger two boys attend daycare at a local preschool. Allen has been incredibly welcoming to their family, and they intend for it to be their forever home, expecting to have children in Allen ISD for the next two decades.

Priorities
For the Future of Allen ISD
Partnering with Parents
Parents should always have a say in their child’s education. Amanda will work to ensure that parents’ voices are heard and respected in decision-making at every level. Clear communication between the district and families, including full transparency on curriculum, spending, and policies, is vital for the district’s continued success. Amanda will advocate for greater accountability, as well as a more effective process for parental involvement in decision-making, ensuring the district remains responsive to the concerns of parents and the community.
Academic Excellence and Student Success
Amanda will advocate for rigorous academic standards and strong career and college readiness programs. She believes that schools should focus on strong academic foundations while also fostering important life skills, ensuring kids’ education and development are the priorities.
Fiscal Accountability and Transparency
Amanda will prioritize responsible budgeting that puts students and teachers first, ensuring that spending aligns with the district’s priorities and maintains a focus on student achievement and well-being. She will advocate for greater accountability in financial decisions, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and directly benefit students.
Allen ISD is facing challenging times with budget shortfalls due to rising costs, lower enrollment, and a lack of increased state funding. Difficult financial decisions may be necessary, but transparency and open communication with the community are critical. When parents, teachers, and residents understand the challenges the District faces, they are more receptive to solutions that ensure Allen ISD remains a top-performing district without compromising student success. Amanda is committed to open, honest conversations about the budget and working with the community to find responsible solutions that keep our schools strong.
Protecting Allen ISD's Future
Amanda is committed to keeping Allen ISD one of the top districts in Texas by fostering strong relationships between schools, parents, teachers, and the broader community - ensuring that families continue to choose Allen for its excellent schools. She will prioritize the needs of students, parents, teachers, and community partners while making sure schools have the resources they need to succeed. She will also champion safe, secure schools where students can learn without fear. Strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand, and Amanda will promote greater engagement with local businesses, the city council, and other stakeholders to support student learning and workforce readiness.

Book Policies in Schools
I believe that parents should have a voice in what their children read and be actively involved in decisions about school library materials. Transparency and clear processes for book selection and review are critical. While I do not support broad, arbitrary removal of books, I do believe that age-appropriate guidelines should be in place, and parents should have a clear, convenient, and consistent way to raise concerns about materials they find inappropriate for their children. Schools should focus on educational value, parental involvement, and community input when curating library resources.
It should be as easy as possible for parents to control access to specific books for their own children – it should be seamless and efficient. Our priority should be empowering parents to be fully engaged. For others whose objections to classroom and library materials may be more expansive, the course of action available to them needs to not only be more transparent, but also comprehensive and stringent to ensure that we don't, with the very best of intentions, impose unduly burdensome processes on schools that may impair the District's mission to educate and resource our children. I also strongly disagree with our kids, our schools, and our District being leveraged to promote the agendas, increase the public profiles, and advance the fortunes of organizations who are not, themselves, stakeholders in our own community. If elected, I will listen to our parents, to our community, and to our educators to improve policies so that they benefit our students and supports all our families.
School Choice /Vouchers
Public schools are the backbone of our communities, and we must ensure they are fully funded and supported to provide a high-quality education for every student. All Texas public schools are facing the headwinds of inflation without any increase to support our students, which essentially equates to a 23% cut in funding since 2019. While families should have the right to make the best educational choices for their children, we must be cautious of policies that divert critical funding away from our public schools without the same academic standards and fiscal transparency and reporting – which I fundamentally disagree with as a taxpayer. My focus is on ensuring that Allen ISD remains “best in class” where all parents can be confident that their children are receiving an exceptional education without needing to seek alternatives.
Because we expect transparency from our elected leaders, I believe it’s important to clearly share my views on the issues that matter most to our district and our community. As the campaign progresses, I will continue to update this section with additional topics that impact Allen ISD. My goal is to ensure that parents, teachers, and community members have a clear understanding of where I stand and how I will approach decision-making if given the opportunity to serve as a trustee on the Allen ISD School Board.
